Changing Trends in Continuing Education

New, Relevant School-based Resources, Techniques and Guidance at ERI’s Annual Therapies in the School Conference -  Taking Place Virtually November 18 and 19, 2021

The new school year is upon us, and school-based Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Therapists are exploring how to make the most of the exciting year ahead with new strategies and interventions that support curriculum and enable students to participate in the school environment. Educators are also adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic and need to re-imagine what participation and performance will look like for school-aged children. So where can school-based therapists find the best resources to support their students?

Education Resources, Inc. will host the annual Therapies in the School Conference which will address how school-based therapists can integrate pre-COVID best practices with functional techniques learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. The two-day conference will be offered as a live webinar on November 18 and 19, 2021 with some of the very best expert speakers in the field presenting highly relevant and timely content and teachings including the following keynote sessions:

  • “Learn it Today, use it Tomorrow: Practical Strategies to Facilitate Independent Executive Function Skills” with Sarah Ward, SLP
  • “Praxis as a Whole Brain Process: How Neuroscience Informs Function” with Teresa May Benson, OT
  • “Breathing, Talking, and Postural Control:  Why is This Relationship so Important for School-Based Therapists to Understand?” Developed by Mary Massery, PT, Presented by Trish West Low
  • “Decisions for Today, Implications for Tomorrow: Long Term Outcomes Over the Life Span for Students with Special Needs” with Barbara Connolly, PT

Registrants will also choose from additional afternoon sessions with Sue Cecere, Barbara Connolly, Tim Richmond, Melissa Gerber, Jan McCleskey and more.

The Therapies in the School Conference now in its 21st year, has been attended by thousands of school-based therapists in the Northeast and now, as a virtual live webinar, the conference can be attended by thousands more across the country, and the world.
