Join Meadow Deason, OTD, OTR/L, CEES and Beth O’Rourke, OTD, OTR/L, BCPR as they discuss evidence-based interventions that will equip therapists to empower patients to manage pain. A biopsychosocial approach to pain management will be presented with information regarding multidimensional assessment, various interventions, and practical clinical application.
Fill your therapy toolbox with evidence-based interventions that can be incorporated into existing treatment plans to address acute and chronic pain. Interventions focus on nervous system modulation to decrease pain perception and increase function. Motivational tools, pain neuroscience education, mindfulness, psychological interventions, diaphragmatic breathing, graded exposure, movement modalities, and lifestyle modifications are all presented as options to include in existing treatment plans to promote self-management of pain.
