Live Webinar for Therapists. Two Sessions for 5 Contact Hours (.5 CEUs) 6:10 pm EST • 5:10 pm CST • 4:10 pm MST • 3:10 pm PST (US) This course will provide therapists with assessment and intervention strategies to promote optimal functional cognitive recovery and outcomes in the ICU and acute care setting. Emerging evidence suggests that early cognitive intervention in acute care significantly reduces delirium incidence and duration as well as the adverse effects of surviving critical illness. This course will provide knowledge and tools for assessing, monitoring or improving key cognitive abilities in critically ill and acute care patients. A framework for integrating cognitive activities into the medical ICU and acute care environment will be discussed within the context of a team approach. Case examples including those with COVID-19 will be presented, and participants will be asked to apply knowledge and methods to case scenarios throughout the presentation.
