Utilize unique treatment strategies for trunk, upper extremity, and lower extremity for the child with neuromotor impairments


Target Audience
This course is designed for the physical therapist, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapists and occupational therapist assistants. This course is attractive to clinicians who seek a better understanding of the NDT Practice Model and the use of handling and facilitation to enhance function. Course content will focus on concepts of theory, assessment, and treatment of the child with cerebral palsy and disorders of the neuromotor system.

Portions of the live seminar will include participant movement on the floor. Please consider computer and space set up to support learning. A jointed rag doll is required for portions of the course to enable practice of handling strategies.
This course meets the criteria for 10 contact hours (1.0) CEUs, Intermediate Level. Most Physical Therapy State Boards accept webinars as a live offering. Please check with your state board to confirm. Application has been made to the NM, NV and OK Boards of Physical Therapy. Application has been made to IL EI Training Program. Approved by the NJ State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, the KY Physical Therapy Association, and the MD Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. Approved sponsor by the State of IL Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for Physical Therapy for 12 contact hours. Approved provider by the NY State Board of Physical Therapy for 12 contact hours (1.2 CEUs). Begin or advance your knowledge of using NDT to treat the child with neurologic impairments and other pediatric disorders. We will discuss the importance of practice of movement sequences and importance of integrating strategies into daily activities utilizing fun and practical ideas. Facilitation strategies for improved movement control and assessment of the primary impairments necessary to address in treatment will be presented utilizing didactic, video and lab format.
