Description
Limitations in ankle dorsiflexion have been associated with balance dysfunction and the development of altered gait patterns. While non-weight bearing ankle range of motion is more commonly used in traditional clinical evaluations, weight bearing means of measurement has a closer resemblance to the range of motion required for functional, closed-chain activities seen in balance and gait. The methodology of this course will take a closer look into differences in age among the results by using both healthy young individuals (ages 20-40) and healthy older individuals (ages 60-80). The gait portion of the study is analyzed using the GAITRite instrumented walkway, and dynamic balance is examined via limits of stability on the Neurocom SMART BalanceMaster. The goal of this CEU course is to investigate the relationship of ankle dorsiflexion measured in non-weight bearing and weight bearing positions, to balance and gait performance.
You don't need to pay for an exam until AFTER you pass it.
