Description
This 18-hour course will be supplemented with online modules strategically developed to maximize use of the 2-day live portion which will be 90% hands-on. MIT-1 lays down the foundational elements of clinical reasoning, pattern recognition, and motor skill acquisition needed to effectively assess and incorporate spinal manipulation immediately into clinical practice. Participants will have the confidence, knowledge, and ability to effectively identify those that would benefit from manipulative therapy, as well as effectively and safely perform manipulative techniques to all regions of the spine, including upper cervical, mid/lower cervical, cervicothoracic junction, thoracic spine, ribs, thoracolumbar junction, and lumbar spine. Alternative approaches for the smaller clinician will be presented to ensure success is not limited by body size. In addition, participants will be introduced to complimentary non-thrust techniques for the management of patients with neurogenic presentations including radiculopathies. This course is designed to equip the practitioner with an advanced yet practical skill set for management of all patient types.

Online Evidence-Based Modules Include:
Indications and Contraindications for Manipulative & Manual Therapy.
Vascular Considerations in Manual Therapy.
When to Manipulate – What Does the Literature Say?
Introduction to Graded Mobilization and Involved Segment Identification.
Neurophysiological & Mechanical Theoretical Mechanisms of Manual Therapy.
Effective & Efficient Neurological Screening for Manual Therapists.
*Online modules include built-in assessments. Participants must pass with a score of 75% or better to qualify for certification.*
A full course manual with all lectures and detailed technique descriptions will be provided to participants.
