Objectives
Course Goals:This course is intended to instruct the professional on guiding clients back to mobility after a fall. Professional Objectives:At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to: Identify the complex systems of balance. Recognize key concerns for falls. Identify common balance assessments. Name Lower Extremities (LE) exercises good for improving strength and balance. Identify self-assessment following a fall. Identify Exercises for floor mobility. Recognize the importance of phone placement. Criteria for Completion:A score of 70% or more is considered passing. Scores of less than 70% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.

Description
Many therapy patients are referred following a fall and/or injury related to a fall. This course discusses risk factors for falling (medications, physical impairments, etc), balance assessments, appropriate balance exercises, floor mobility activities and self-assessments following a fall. Real clients/patients sessions are used to demonstrate all activities discussed in a studio/home environment. This user-friendly program and exercises can be adopted into any program immediately. This Seminar-on-Demand is 2 contact hours in length (check your state?s approval status in the state specific course catalog for your profession).
