Description

Clinicians who treat pelvic health patients must be prepared to treat both women and men. Male pelvic health patients often require differential diagnosis and treatments that are unique from female patients - This course is designed to provide the pelvic health therapist with specific knowledge and usable skills to treat all male specific conditions.
In depth education will be provided on prostatectomy surgeries and the multitude of causes of post prostectectomy urinary incontinence as well as prognosis expectations and tools for improving outcomes with this unique population. This course will also provide an understanding of prostatitis and male pelvic pain. Therapists will be guided through the differential diagnosis of male pelvic pain which is critical to provide evidence based, effective treatment.
This course will help the clinician modify their subjective and objective evaluation skills to the unique male pelvic health population to ensure efficiency and accuracy of treatment intervention. Documentation skills will be outlined to ensure proper use of assessment scales with Medicare G code requirements.
Methods of instruction include lecture presentation, multi-media and written materials.
