Agenda

Description
Understand, treat, and prevent mood disorders with evidence-based solutions
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, clinical depression affects nearly nine percent of all adults in the United States and is linked to the growing epidemic of chronic health conditions, such as heart disease and obesity. Yet, many people do not seek help for depression, fearing the stigma of a mental health diagnosis and the possible side effects of prescribed medications. Of those who do seek help, antidepressant therapy does not always work. One third of those treated continue to suffer with persistent residual symptoms, and alarmingly, approximately seventy percent of these patients experience a relapse.
This seminar will provide the information to understand, treat, and prevent mood disorders by addressing the biological, biochemical, and nutritional imbalances that often play a role in causing and sustaining these disorders. Using evidence-based research and 20 years of clinical experience, the presenter will discuss the current treatment of polypharmacy and the effectiveness of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and referenced-EEG (rEEG) in guiding medication selection. Participants will learn how contributing factors like hormones, allergies, nutritional deficiencies, environmental toxins, and digestive problems affect patient testing and will develop tools to apply practical, individualized, and integrative solutions to treatment.
