Description

Breaking the Cycle of Abuse and Neglect
Statistics indicate that at least 30-50% of today's population will be victims of abuse and neglect. Sadly, these destructive patterns of abuse are established at childhood. Setting a goal to survive the pain is simply not enough; these victims must learn to heal and transcend. Without this ability, they will remain victims throughout their lives, continuing to act upon their emotional pain at a high cost to their relationships, themselves, and their future. As a result, society is losing some of its most valuable assets: young people and adults who have not developed their potential to make a positive contribution due to the emotional, physical, and mental effects of abuse and neglect.

This insightful seminar teaches therapists proven techniques their clients can use to shift from victims to Transcenders. Dr. Donna LaMar delivers a comprehensive understanding of the healing process that has helped many clients overcome the damaging results of abuse and neglect. She brings more than 30 years of research-based techniques that people have successfully used to help them rise above and go beyond their pain. Besides taking participants from the experience of trauma toward the healing and growing process, Dr. LaMar shares wisdom that the victims gained from their tumultuous circumstances. Attendees participate in case studies, role-playing, and group demonstrations to develop the skills needed to help victims and survivors emerge from the trauma in their lives, grieve their losses, reclaim their inner authentic selves, and create a healthier, more successful life.
