Description
This program describes pain as Symptom Magnification Syndrome, a learned behavioral response to chronic pain. Techniques for identification and treatment of SMS are presented. Work hardening originated with Dr. Matheson at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey, California in the mid 70s. It spread worldwide with more than 1,000 facilities in the United States.
