Dr. Rhonda Mattingly is an Associate Professor and the Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Communicative Disorders at the University of Louisville. She has been a practicing speech-language pathologist since 1989 and has spent most of her career working with infants and children with feeding disorders. Dr. Mattingly has also provided services to adults with swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive diagnoses. She has worked in the early intervention, outpatient, and acute care settings including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at a large children’s hospital. Dr. Mattingly teaches a full semester graduate course in pediatric feeding and swallowing and has taught continuing education courses in over fifty cities in the U.S and Madrid, Spain. She continues to evaluate and treat infants with feeding and swallowing issues in the NICU, to perform modified barium swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, and to provide treatment to individuals across the lifespan in both private practice and inpatient settings.
