Manual therapy is a critical component of multifaceted care for older adults. This course will reveal all the latest evidence on efficacy, frequency, duration and how to properly perform the myriad of manual techniques that have been proven to be effective in the research literature. Dr Carole Lewis PT, DPT, GCS, GTCCS, MPA, MSG, PhD, FSOAE, FAPTA will provide an exhaustive review of the literature for issues commonly seen in older adults: back and neck pain, shoulder, hip, foot, upper extremity and knee problems. She will then explain and demonstrate any exercise protocols associated with the manual therapy techniques. Dennis Welling, PT, MTC, DPT, FSOAE experienced and dually certified manual therapist will demonstrate all the manual techniques described on an older patient and will teach the proper application to another therapist so you can see the common mistakes and suggestions for proper execution of this important modality.
