The participant will: Determine the differences between function & participation and why therapists need to go beyond milestones Apply the components of the ICF model & the NDT perspective using patient examples: Contextual Factors Participation Function Multi-system Integrities & Impairments System Integrities & Impairments, including: Neuromotor Musculoskeletal Sensory Respiration Utilizing the Assessment & Treatment Strategy Worksheet that incorporates the ICF Model, evaluate a child on video Identify the components of therapy Intervention using principles of Neuroplasticity and Motor Learning Write meaningful goals that have a life impact Measure the degree of progress/outcome using the GAS (Goal Attainment Scale) For a given child: Develop functional goals Identify Multi-System impairments/Posture & Movement Strategies related to a functional goal Identify critical components needed to perform a given task Determine possible System Impairments/Integrities related to the functional goal Prioritize impairments based on the functional goal Develop and implement appropriate treatment goals for a single session related to the functional goal Design a treatment plan addressing the critical components in an organized, prioritized manner using principles of neuroplasticity and motor learning Demonstrate treatment strategies that address critical components of an identified functional goal
