Objectives

Given the results of a clients biomechanical assessment, design a clinically reasoned shoulder rehabilitation program
Given the results of a client’s biomechanical assessment, teach a clinically reasoned shoulder rehabilitation program for that client.

In order to complete this course you will need to have attended APPI’s Pilates for Rehabilitation – Matwork Level One course or a 2 day Pilates Matwork course with a recognised Pilates training provider.

We recommend that you have the following equipment in order to get the most out of this online course:
1 x Arm Strength Resistance Band (lighter strength)
1 x Towel 1 x Mat Other equipment which may be useful, but is not essential:
1 x resistance tube
1 x Magic Circle 1 x Swiss (Exercise) Ball
1 x Soft Pilates Ball

After viewing this online course you will be required to pass a 30 question multiple choice test. The pass mark for this test is 80%.

Physical Therapists/Physical Therapist Assistants This course is awaiting approval for 5.5 hours of continued education by the following:
Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

Description
This online course is designed to help you apply the principles of the APPI method to shoulder rehabilitation. The course will include a review of current theories of shoulder stability and consider how Pilates exercises may be used to enhance this specific area of shoulder retraining. The practical element will introduce exercises and modifications incorporating principles of:
kinetic chain
upper quadrant and scapular stability
functional re-training
