Objectives
Following this course you will be able to:
Deliver a Pilates class for the hypermobile population
Identify the differences between flexibility, hypermobility and hypermobility disorders
Accurately assess for a hypermobility disorder
Given a case scenario of a hypermobile client, the learner will be able to design an appropriate exercise program for the client.

In order to complete this course you will need to have attended APPI’s Pilates for Rehabilitation – Matwork Level One course or a 2 day Pilates Matwork course with a recognised Pilates training provider.

We recommend that you have the following equipment in order to get the most out of this online course:
1 x Arm Strength Resistance Band (lighter strength)
1 x Soft Pilates Ball
1 x Towe
l 1 x Mat

After viewing this online course you will be required to pass a multiple choice test. The pass mark for this test is 80%.

Physical Therapists/Physical Therapist Assistants
This course is awaiting approval for 5.75 hours of continued education by the following:
Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

Description
APPI’s Pilates & Hypermobility Online course provides an in-depth look into the application of Pilates based exercises for the hypermobile client. This course will present a scripted class plan for the hypermobile population and an in-depth review of the myriad of hypermobility issues from hypermobility to Hypermobility Syndrome to Ehlers Danlos and Marfans disease. The course will then proceed to a series of specific exercises looking at how to work clients with hypermobility disorders into the neutral and then the hypermobile range. All aspects of the course are backed up with relevant research and clinical application of the course founder.
This online course is presented by APPI Co-Founder Glenn Withers.
