Objectives
Participants will be able to:
1.Identify key aspects of development in the context of typical movement and sensation related to a designated task
2.Create a functional goal for a designated task applying current concepts learned from an NDT, SI, and motor learning aspect
3.Apply critical thinking to design a prioritized approach that identifies top areas to be addressed in treatment
4.Using a systematic approach describe a treatment plan based on functional goal
5.Design three intervention steps to execute in treatment


Target Audience
This course is designed for Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Speech Therapists working with infants through young adolescence. Course content is not intended for use by participants outside their scope of practice, license or regulations.

This course meets the criteria for 13 contact hours (1.3 CEUs). Application has been made to the NJ Board of Physical Therapy and the PA State Board of Physical Therapy.

DAY TWO

Description
Do you ever wonder where to begin with your clients that have many needs? What is the leading area of concern? Why doesn’t it seem my treatments aren’t as effective as I anticipated? This workshop will enhance critical thinking skills and hands-on skills to facilitate therapists in using a problem-solving approach when treating children with complicated developmental challenges. Focus during the workshop will utilize critical thinking skills for evaluation and assessment from a neurodevelopmental, sensory and motor learning aspect. Using this approach will assist therapists in setting realistic and measurable goals that will drive treatment sessions resulting in more effective intervention
