Course Description: An estimated 20 million people in the United States have some form of peripheral neuropathy, yet many clinicians are unprepared to treat the condition appropriately, and medical and therapeutic interventions are often mal-prescribed due to misinformation or unawareness on the topic. Participants in the presentation will learn to recognize signs and symptoms of peripheral neuropathy and how to appropriately treat it as a primary or secondary diagnosis. We will also discover ongoing research efforts that are taking place to better understand the causes, prevention and treatment of peripheral neuropathy.
