Course Goals:This course is intended to instruct the professional through a self-paced study on efficient and effective rehabilitation of acute, chronic, overuse, and surgical problems of the ankle and foot.Professional Objectives:At the end of this course the professional will be able to: Utilize an algorithmic approach to rehabilitation for common acute and chronic injuries of the ankle/foot. Discuss precautions and contraindications based on diagnosis, patient presentation, and surgical procedure. Develop and modify exercise progression based on patient presentation and surgical procedure. Perform manual therapy techniques to the ankle/foot to assist with rehabilitation goals. Identify and correct training errors that may contribute to ankle/foot pathology. Identify when taping, bracing, and footwear modifications may assist with treating ankle/foot pathologies. Utilize outcome tools to identify functional impairments and to monitor patient progress.

Using current research, this Seminar-on-Demand provides insights into efficient and effective non-operative rehabilitation of the most common acute and chronic ankle/foot injuries. Additionally, it presents up to date information regarding post-operative rehabilitation following fracture stabilization, ligament reconstruction, tendon repair, and joint procedures of the ankle/foot.
