Description

"In 2014, the health care and social assistance sector accounted for 52% of the workplace violence events; (April, 2016 AFL-CIO Death on the Job Report) Medical and social service professionals face real danger with serious implications for practice, and those professionals with the least amount of experience in the field face greater danger.

This seminar is packed with approaches to assess and respond to the risk of long-term and acute violence, as well as strategies to use when faced with active shooters. You will leave with tools to respond to violent incidents including the C.A.L.M. approach and "The Cliff" schemata that prepare clients and their caregivers in the event that the client becomes dangerous in the home or community. You will also leave with the tools to set up a safer work environment, and information on which panic systems work best in which settings. Having encountered an active shooter, and worked with law enforcement, Tim Webb, LPC combines over 27 years of behavioral health and martial arts experience with the latest research to provide practical, hands-on tools you can immediately employ to fulfill your professional obligations to provide care while keeping yourself, your clients, and the community safe.
