Present the evidence of the pathophysiology for the myofascial trigger point phenomenon
Present methods of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of myofascial trigger point syndrome
Discuss Physiological principles of dry needling, dry needling methods and models
Learn and apply Clean Needle Method and creation of a Clean Field, Safety Precautions, Indications, Contra-Indications, Infection Control, Handling of Emergencies.
Present, demonstrate and practice Dry Needling treatment methods for myofascial trigger points of the Upper Extremities and the Cervical Spine.

Lab Attire: Appropriate Lab Attire to Expose the Trunk, Upper & Lower Extremities is Required. Bring a pillow and an exercise mat if you like.

This seminar teaches the fundamentals of dry needling. Physiological principles of dry needling, dry needling methods and models are been discussed and demonstrated, Clean Needle Method and creation of a Clean Field, Precautions, Indications, Contra-Indications, Infection Control, Handling of Emergencies will be covered.
Selected muscles of the shoulder, elbow and hand along with muscles of the neck area will be needled safely and effectively. Differential diagnosis and muscle selection is a very important component of this course.
Small groups for individual attention is paramount for this course. Learn, practice and apply Dry Needling with total confidence!
Major cause of somatic, somatovisceral and somatoemotional dysfunction can be presence of Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs). MTrPs are also a leading cause of misdiagnosis amongst Physical Therapists who treat musculoskeletal problems. Effective Manual Physical Therapists must be experts in the evaluation and treatment of soft tissue dysfunction, which includes the utilization of Dry Needling Technique.
This course reviews the evidence of the pathophysiology of myofascial pain; teaches effective treatments of muscles of the upper body with the use of Dry Needling and explores assessment methods with emphasis to diagnosis and differential diagnosis, which leads to proper muscle selection.
The history, theory and research of Dry Needling will be reviewed. Emphasis is given on safety precautions along with extensive anatomy review of the selected structures to be needled.
Participants have the opportunity to practice effective and efficient MTrP Dry Needling treatment methods for the Cervical Spine and the upper extremities.
