Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Sonography 2 Lower Extremities LIVE

Hands-On Seminars

Format(s):   Live Seminars
Discipline(s):   Physical Therapy
Contact Hours:   16
Registration Fee:   $800

Objectives
After a foundational presentation of normal sonoanatomy, image optimization, image orientation, and an image interpretation algorithm, systematic protocols for shoulder, elbow, hand/wrist, hip, knee, foot/ankle, and lumbar spine are presented.
Demonstration of the established scan protocols via didactic sessions are coupled with hands-on practice sessions giving the student adequate opportunity to be initially exposed to handling the ultrasound transducer, accurately and efficiently obtaining and labeling images, and developing interpretation skills.
The student has in-depth knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, and this will be valuable as you begin to appreciate standard orientation of the anatomy on ultrasound. Students may be asked to present images for review and critique.
Worldwide, more and more healthcare professionals are tapping the well of diagnostic sonography—it is quickly becoming the standard of care for visualizing musculoskeletal anatomy.

Confirmation Notes
Certification in MSKUS is not mandatory. Someone may choose to take just one of the online individual MSKUS courses or and entire Module for the upper or lower extremity. However, for an individual to complete our Cert. MSKUS program and use the credentials Cert.MSKUS next of their names, must complete the entire program including: Module 1, Module 2, MSKUS Practical Workshop 1, MSKUS Practical Workshop 2, Pass the online and Practical Examinations. The practical examination is delivered in both MSKUS Practical Workshop 1 and 2.
Taking an entire Module vs individual courses, gives you the opportunity to take the practical workshop which is included in both Module courses and provides you with a significant discount over single courses.
You can take Modules 1 and 2 in any order and there are no pre-requisites.

Agenda
The Practical Workshop covers the following: - Demonstration and Practice of general structures - Demonstration and Practice of various components of the Joint discussed - Demonstration and Practice of the MSKUS Protocol of the Joint discussed - MSKUS Pathology of the Joint discussed - Protocols, Presentation handouts, exam, Live Course Certification

Description
Now You Can See What Your Patients Feel.
Recent advances in sonar and ultrasound technology have created a more functional and practical approach to evaluate joints, muscles, ligaments and even nerves. This technology is called Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.
Clinical evidence and research support using ultrasound as the first diagnostic test for numerous musculoskeletal conditions. Diagnostic ultrasound offers a number of important advantages compared to X-Ray, CT and MRI, in terms of safety and effectiveness. Musculoskeletal ultrasound simply uses sonic waves, and there is no exposure to radiation.
