Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. List five concepts of the NDT philosophy.
2. Analyze a functional skill in terms of biomechanical, neuromuscular, sensory, and respiratory control.
3. List three- five similarities and three to five differences in the development of children with spastic and dyskinetic cerebral palsy.
4. Demonstrate at least five treatment ideas to change alignment and neuromuscular control in children with cerebral palsy on an adult lab partner.
5. Plan a treatment sequence to meet a functional goal using concepts learned in this two day course.

Description
This two day course is designed to acquaint physical, occupational, and speech therapists and assistants with the Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) philosophy of treating children with cerebral palsy. This is a hands-on course where participants will work together in labs learning treatment ideas and sequences. The lectures include information on skill development and the development of children with spastic and dyskinetic types of cerebral palsy, and treatment planning. The course includes treatment demonstrations by the instructor.
This course requires the participant to actively work with adult lab partners to practice treatment techniques. Bring a large bed sheet for floor work, ONE therapy ball medium to large, TWO toys for lab work , and ONE of these items: 2-4 bolsters and 2-4 wedges, and benches in all sizes, from about 4"-24".
Participant must wear T-shirts, leotards, or other sport-type clothing that allows a lab partner to view the trunk and limbs, as well as allowing the participant maximal movement
