Description

Clinically-Proven Therapeutic Modalities.
Rock-Solid Reimbursement Documentation.

Referring physicians routinely request modalities based on antiquated "cook-book" protocols and anecdotal evidence, ordering modalities shown to be ineffective and/or contraindicated by current literature. Patients and researchers alike have responded critically to this inefficient pattern, questioning the purpose, effect, and anticipated outcome of therapeutic modalities used in interventions, and often finding the therapeutic modalities applied by providers to be clinically irrelevant. Following this trend, secondary payers now increasingly question rehabilitation professionals' use of therapeutic modalities, especially in the efficacy of their use and reimbursement for these services.

Practicing clinicians must break the cycle and move away from the shotgun approach to utilizing modalities in clinical practice, focusing instead on achieving and documenting positive outcomes for patients. This clinically relevant one-day seminar will expand the practitioner's knowledge of current literature both supporting and refuting the effects of commonly used therapeutic modalities. Application suggestions for therapeutic modalities as they relate to specific pathologies will be discussed and multiple lab components focusing on the application of each modality will enhance participants' comfort and skill level when performing the treatment on patients. Participants will return to practice able to confidently choose and apply the most appropriate therapeutic modality for a given pathology, as well as defend their choice to patients, physicians, and secondary payers.
