Description

Why Do I Need to Know About ICF?
Medicare's new law, effective January 1, 2013, requires the use of G codes, based upon the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF). Punitive measures kick in July 1, 2013, meaning reimbursement could be denied if your facility is not in compliance.

In every health care delivery system in the world, there is increasing pressure on providers for standardized documentation and outcomes reporting in terms of patient functional limitations. The ultimate goal of collecting data is to reform the payment system for rehab services in hospitals, critical access hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, CORFs, rehabilitation agencies, home health agencies, and the private offices of therapists, physicians, and non-physician practitioners. It is also intended to provide Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) with a new understanding of patient condition and outcomes.

Join Dr. Malcolm Bond as he explains the new Medicare documentation requirements for rehab professionals and presents ICF in easy-to-understand, practical terms. This workshop demonstrates practical applications through the use of case studies and share experiences from clinics that have gone live with ICF. Attendees leave the seminar with the background and knowledge to transition from their daily documentation routine into compliance with the new Medicare requirements.
