This seminar will examine the effect of the static mechanics on dynamic function of the lower extremity, particularly gait. Normal and abnormal lower limb and foot mechanics will be reviewed and the influence of bony abnormalities, soft tissue tightness and muscle control problems on chronic overuse lower limb problems will be examined. Appropriate intervention strategies will also be discussed.
