Description
Course Description: Far too often, Health Care Professionals lump patients who have suffered a CVA into a single category based on diagnosis (i.e. Stroke), or simply refer to the side of the body on which the motor skills have been affected (e.g. Left Hemiplegia). By doing so, rehabilitative techniques are often generalized as well; sometimes at the expense of greater recovery or unnecessary risks and complications. This presentation will describe common clinical manifestations of stroke based on the region of the brain that has been affected, and discusses the implications on treatment strategies and considerations.
