Course Goals:This course is intended to instruct the professional on evaluation and treatment of the adolescent overhead athlete. Professional Objectives: At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to: List three evidence based risk factors for shoulder and/or elbow injury in the adolescent overhead athlete List three evidence based common musculoskeletal injuries in the adolescent overhead athlete. Enumerate three evidence based pitching pathomechanics in the adolescent baseball pitcher. Recoall three evidence based injury preventive measures for the adolescent overhead athlete. Identify three best practice interventions for a rehabilitation program following shoulder elbow injury in the overhead athlete. Criteria for Completion:A score of 70% or more is considered passing. Scores of less than 70% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.

Effective screening measures to identify core instability, scapula dyskinesia and abnormal pitching mechanics are highlighted.
