Course Goals: This course is intended to guide the professional through a study on accurate and timely reimbursement of claims through adequate documentation. Professional Objectives: At the conclusion of this course, participants will Define the rules and laws governing therapy documentation Recognize the financial impact/risk associated with poor documentation Identfiy the correct assigning of CPT Codes per Local Coverage Determination Correctly assign ICD-10 Codes necessary to support medical necessity Identify items necessary when drafting an accurate Re-certification Identify the role of Therapy in the Weekly Reimbursement Meeting Identify the role of Nursing in documentating procedures for ICD-10 coding List at least four rules of ethics that are found to be common healthcare organization policies Identify practical applications of ethics in real ethical dilemmas Criteria for Completion:A score of 70% or more is considered passing. Scores of less than 70% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.
