Description
Upper extremity joint instabilities can affect a variety of patients including the young athletic person to the mature active person. Wrist and hand instabilities result in grip weakness affecting daily tasks due to pain. Elbow instability jeopardizes function due to the elbow’s link as a lever arm to the upper body kinetic chain. Shoulder instability can result in disruptions with work and recreational activities. Joint instabilities of the upper quadrant often result in poor biomechanics to the involved joint and neighboring joints that can result in faulty movement patterns that lead to injury. Therapists attending this webinar will enhance their clinical knowledge of joint biomechanics and pathophysiology of instabilities of the upper extremity. Therapists attending this webinar will acquire skills to implement an upper quadrant holistic approach to common hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder instabilities. Evidenced based assessment skills and intervention strategies will be featured for immediate transfer into daily clinical practice.
