Description
Every day, therapists are expected to succeed in their treatment for individuals with dementia. Knowing the progressively degenerative nature of the disease, many may wonder "What's the purpose? Will this be denied? What should I do if they refuse?" That's the old healthcare thinking. Since the Medicare Improvement Standard class action lawsuit of January 2013, the Policy Manuals have been revised. This is a huge step forward in care for individuals with dementia and other neurological problems such as MS and Parkinson's. Medicare reviewers are instructed that they cannot deny treatment based solely on an 'improvement standard' and this is to be applied in determining Medicare coverage for maintenance claims that require skilled care. This course is designed for easy learning with an experienced presenter, one who is a practicing therapist, understands your frustrations and challenges and can answer your questions. This seminar will provide clarity and confidence for those clinicians, who are concerned about documentation and providing a reimbursable statement of medical necessity; who are unsure of proper interventions and who find it difficult to meet their goals.
