Participants will be able to:
Identify and classify the student with complex needs.
Identify classification systems of complex student groups in the school setting to assist in determining interventions and outcomes.
Recognize how the expected disease progression would determine a plan of care appropriate for the student in the academic setting.
Identify and list interventions at all levels for students with a variety of complex academic needs as it relates to the student’s curriculum needs.

This session will use case based discussions of children who present with multi-system clinical involvement that impact their access to education and the curriculum. Evidence will be used to look at expected outcomes and Responses to Intervention (RTI) in determining a plan of care as part of the IEP for students with complex needs. This session will discuss how to support the child using a family centered model of care in an academic setting. Intervention strategies will align therapy goals with the curriculum.
