Description
Why Do My Students Do That: Practical Applications of Neuroscience in the Classroom
Understanding the "why" behind your students' behaviors can maximize your ability to support them in the school setting, train their teachers and parents, and be more effective in your treatment approach. This session discussed functional neuroanatomy related to the development of the brain, learning and memory, and several diagnoses. Case studies will provide strategies for treatment in the classroom setting.
Collaborative Approaches to Addressing Wellness at School: The Role of Related Service Providers in Addressing the National Mandates
In 2011, guidelines were created to assist schools in addressing the mandates in health and wellness from the Women, Infants and Children Reauthorization Act of 2004. This session will address the physical activity and healthy eating components and identify the challenges and opportunities to help improve the success of student and staff wellness.
