Description
This lab intensive manual therapy course presents the use of mechanical movements which lead to proper selection of Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), Soft Tissue Mobilization (STM), select joint mobilizations and home exercises to correct positional faults, muscular imbalance and hypo-mobility of the lumbar spine, pelvis and hip region. Mastery of these techniques, require a foundation in anatomy and mechanics for the lower quadrant. This course utilizes evidence based principles to guide the examination sequence and lead the clinician towards an appropriate treatment program. The laboratory sessions will utilize demonstration followed by an opportunity to train on examination and treatment techniques under the supervision of the instructor. Supportive exercises for a home exercise program will be discussed and presented. Case studies will be utilized to demonstrate the thought process from evaluation to treatment.
