Specialty Pediatric Concepts of the Kinesio Taping® Method (Formerly KT4) (KT 1-2 and 3 prerequisite)

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, including the lecture, demonstration and lab, the participant will be able to: Develop proficient knowledge of basic Kinesio Taping principles, properties, and techniques. Be able to identify three specific muscle synergies/patterns and Kinesio Taping techniques to facilitate muscle balance and alignment. Learn four advanced Kinesio Taping techniques. Become familiar with commonly used Kinesio Taping techniques for specific pediatric diagnoses. Be exposed to adjunctive treatment options for specific pediatric diagnosis. Be involved with problem solving strategies for treatment utilizing Kinesio Taping.

Confirmation Notes

Prerequisites: KT1/KT2/KT3 must be taken at least 4 weeks prior to taking KT3. Proof of attendance must be provided. Please email your KT1/KT2 certificate of attendance to info@RehabEd.com or fax to 845-368-2458 after completing registration.

CE Credits
8 contact hours for KT4
Accepted by many professional credentialing organizations and state professional regulatory boards. Check with your state board/credentialing agency to verify. Certificate of attendance will be issued to all participants upon completion of the course and may be used for CEU verification of credits. CE Credits vary by state. Please check with your state board/certifying agency to confirm conversion of contact hours to CE. .
Physical Therapy Board of California: The Physical Therapy Board of California recognizes Rehab Education, LLC as an approval agency to approve providers offering continuing competency courses for CA licensed PTs and PTAs.This course is approved for 8 contact hours.

Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners: This course has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners as meeting continuing education requirements for PTs and PTAs for 8 CEU. Approval #54089A. (Course must be taken between 07-21-2013 and 07-20-2014)
Virginia Board of Physical Therapy : This course has been approved by virtue of Illinois CE Provider Approval #216.000227 for 8 contact hours. (Course must be completed by 09-30-2014).

Description

KT4 Specialty Pediatric Concepts of the Kinesio Taping® Method (Pre-requisite, completion of KTA approved KT1, KT2, and KT3 courses) .
The KT4 Pediatrics course is designed to provide advanced Kinesio Taping techniques and problem-solving to physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists, athletic trainers, and other health professionals specializing in pediatrics.
Kinesio Taping is a method of treatment for musculoskeletal and myofascial disorders. Kinesio Taping can be used during physical activity and in conjunction with many therapeutic interventions.
Attendees will review theory and basic taping techniques, learn advanced and combination techniques, and develop clinical reasoning skills relevant to the pediatric population. The course will also provide commonly used taping techniques for specific diagnoses, including cerebral palsy, hemiplegia, torticollis, and brachial plexus injury; as well as pediatric sports related injuries.
