    Description
This intensive hands on workshop will focus on assessment and treatment of patients with vertigo and disequilibrium. This evidence-based course will train clinicians in cutting edge rehabilitative management of vestibular disorders and help clinicians determine the most effective strategies to use. Topics will include anatomy/physiology, medical management, pathology, detailed bedside examination and treatment skills. Competence in the performance of examination and treatment skills will be addressed in a lab format. The seminar is intended to enhance the clinicians ability to determine the indications and efficacy of vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) for common vestibular disorders. Practical application of VRT to a variety of practice settings will be discussed. An emphasis will be placed on the management of BPPV, (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) which is the most common vestibular disorder and accounts for approximately 20# of all dizziness. The prevalence of BPPV is estimated at approximately 10# within an elderly population. Canalith repositioning maneuvers are highly effective manual treatments to address the various forms of BPPV. This workshop will enable clinicians to differentiate vestibular disorders and plan for the most effective interventions. barysphere diagonable.
