Professional Objectives: At the end of this course the professional will be able to: *Identify the clinical pathway for postoperative management of ACL reconstruction and its four phases. *Recognize use of KT-1000 arthrometry system. *Recognize exercises to be used as part of a core stabilization program including bridges, rose-wall slides and side-lying bridges. *Recognize 6 factors to help determine return to activity following an ACL reconstruction. *Recognize advantages and disadvantages of the use of a contralateral graft used for ACL reconstruction. *List exercises and equipment that can be used to help achieve full extension in the knee. *Identify Phase I, II and III rehabilitation protocol following an ACL reconstruction with a contralateral patellar tendon graft. *Recognize the most commonly used autografts including BPTB and hamstring grafts. *Recognize advantages and disadvantages of using autografts over allografts in ACL reconstructions. *Identify postoperative rehabilitation guidelines after an ACL hamstring autograft reconstruction for Phases I, II, III and IV. *Define LEFRT. *Identify advantages and disadvantages of allograft uses for ACL reconstruction. *Identify indications and contraindications of the anterior cruciate ligament allograft used for ACL reconstructions. *List Phase 1-6 rehabilitation guidelines following an ACL allograft including goals, restrictions, treatment and clinical milestones. *Identify 8 requirements needed to return to activity following an ACL reconstruction with an allograft. *Identify benefits of a notchplasty. *List 7 terms used to describe motion loss. *Recognize signs and symptoms of a DVT. *Recognize anatomy structures of the ACL and PCL. *Identify mechanisms of injury to the ACL. *Identify and differentiate between intrinsic factors such as Q-angle, notch size, joint laxity, and hormonal factors. *Identify the Dynamic Neuromuscular Analysis Training Protocol.
